Breaking The Silos: The Benefits Of Unified Teams And Collaboration

They say teamwork makes the dream work.

Now, I usually like to add that visionary all-in-one software platforms like Marketing Manager also play an important part in making work more efficient and goals easier to accomplish.

However, it’s ultimately the teams that this software unifies that hold the keys to success. And according to recent research from Klaviyo and Forrester Consulting, “teams and tools are disconnected, inhibiting collaborative efforts.”

“Most marketing and customer service teams struggle to collaborate on shared goals,” says one of the key findings in the Shared Goals, Separate Systems report. “While these leaders are aligned on strategic outcomes, they lack the processes and systems to act on that alignment.”

61% of those surveyed said organizational silos are their primary roadblocks, with 57% saying different goals or KPIs and 52% pointing to disconnected tools and data.

“These interconnected obstacles must be addressed holistically,” the report says. “Simply using the same tools across teams does not mean an organization is aligned. Departments must also work to break down silos and better understand where their KPIs intersect.”

The benefits of that collaboration between customer service, customer experience, and marketing are simply too essential to ignore, including increased customer retention (61%), increased revenue (55%), and increased customer lifetime value (53%).

“Customers who already expect companies to have a single view of them also feel these benefits, preventing fractured experiences across departments,” the report says. “All this from mostly informal collaboration illuminates the possibilities of consistent cross‑functional collaboration.”
